These terms apply when you use firmware.datacarelabs.com (“the site”) to find and download hard disk firmware. The site is run by DataCare Labs Private Limited, 301 Fortune House, Baner, Pune 411045, India (“we”, “us”). By signing in or downloading, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

1. What the site offers

The site offers firmware sets (firmware modules and related files read from hard disk drives) free of charge, to help qualified people recover data. We may add, change or remove entries, or change how the site works, at any time.

2. Your account

• You sign in with your own Google account. One account is for one person.
• Keep your Google account secure; you are responsible for what is done with your account on the site.
• We may limit, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the site at risk.

3. Fair use and the daily limit

• Each account may download a limited number of firmware sets per day. The current limit is shown on each firmware page, and it starts again at midnight India time.
• Download links are personal and stop working after a short time. Do not share them.
• Do not use scripts, bots or scraping tools, do not create more than one account, and do not otherwise try to get around the limit or copy the database in bulk.
• Do not publish, sell or re-host the files on another website or service without our written permission.

4. Using firmware safely

Firmware work can make a drive permanently unreadable and can destroy the data you are trying to recover. Before writing anything to a drive, check that its model, firmware version and family match the set exactly, and back up the drive’s own firmware modules first. Use the files only if you know how to work with drive firmware and have suitable professional tools.

5. No warranty

The files and the site are provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that any file is complete, free of errors, suitable for your drive or safe to use, or that the site will always be available. You use the files at your own risk.

6. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, DataCare Labs is not liable for any loss of data, damage to drives or other equipment, loss of business or profit, or any indirect or consequential loss that results from using, or being unable to use, the site or any file from it. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

7. Trademarks and rights holders

Western Digital, WD and the drive model names are trademarks of their owners. The site is not affiliated with or endorsed by any drive manufacturer. If you hold rights in a file and object to it being offered here, write to support@datacarelabs.com with the details; we will review it promptly and remove it where appropriate.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts in Pune, Maharashtra have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
