SSD data recovery tools
6 tools 4 hardware 2 software 1 free
An SSD has no moving parts, but its controller is also its translator: it decides where every piece of data lives in the memory chips. When the controller or its firmware fails, the data is usually still there but unreadable.
SSD tools put supported controllers into a technology mode, rebuild the missing service information and read the data out. Support depends on the exact controller, so labs check the maker's supported list first.
One thing no tool can undo: once TRIM has told the SSD that space is free, the drive may erase it on its own. Stop using an SSD as soon as data goes missing.
