What it does

HDDSuperClone brought some lab-imager ideas to free software.

Clones failing drives with detailed error feedback
Learns which head is bad and reads the good heads first
Direct access to IDE/SATA drives with soft and hard resets, and power cycling through a USB relay
A virtual drive mode so file recovery programs can read through it while it images
Reads and writes ddrescue map files

The paid PRO features have been free since version 2.3.3 (July 2022). The author says he no longer maintains it; OpenSuperClone continues the work.
